Teacher’s day

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.”

-Brad Henry

India has been celebrating Teacher's Day on 5th of September since 1962. 5th of September is the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan, a philosopher and a teacher par excellence.

On this day, we gratefully remember the great educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. His dream was that "Teachers should be the best minds in the country". Hence, Teachers' Day is very important for all our people, as the teachers act as foundation for creating responsible citizens. We can never thank our teachers enough for their efforts.

Teacher's Day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by our teachers towards our development.

Students take the opportunity of this special day to express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers. There are several ways through which the students can appreciate the immense contribution of the teachers.

Teacher’s day celebrations that are an integral part of 5th September are incomplete without the presence of some good and meaningful teacher’s day speeches and teacher’s day messages.

Teacher’s Day is the ideal day of telling your teachers that you feel blessed because of their presence in your lives. Teacher’s day speeches are actually considered as a wonderful way for expressing our respect and sincere acknowledgement to our teachers. The significant role and contributions of the teachers in giving a proper shape to our lives cannot be described or expressed in words.

Schools and institutions make elaborate preparations for the celebrations. The ceremony usually kicks off with a warm Teacher's Day speech paying respect and thanking teachers for their contribution. This is often followed by a range of colourful cultural programs, feast and other activities which make the event special and memorable. A few traditional ways of celebrating the event include presenting colourful flowers, beautiful Teacher's Day cards or gifts to the teacher as tokens of love and admiration.

Every child should have a caring adult in their lives. And that's not always a biological parent or family member. It may be a friend or neighbour. Often times it is a teacher. A teacher can change a student’s life.

A student practically spends majority of his time in his school and hence the rapport which it shares with the teacher is priceless. The teacher is not only bound to the syllabus but gives you knowledge which helps in celebrating life with confidence and obviously achieving success. A teacher by all means is a multi-faceted personality which comes as a boon in our life and stays throughout our lives.

I personally will never forget all teachers in my life, at all stages of life, whether I am successful or not it is the teachers teachings which will remain with me as a true treasure.
